Your journey opens in Nairobi with a smooth arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where a private transfer escorts you to the Hilton Garden Inn near the airport. The evening is yours to unwind after your flight as you prepare for the adventure ahead.
At sunrise the following morning, your driver greets you for the drive to Amboseli. As the road stretches toward the open plains, the sight of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s snowy crown begins to rise in the distance. You reach Elerai Camp in time for lunch, a serene property set against sweeping views of the Amboseli ecosystem. The afternoon offers your first wildlife outing, setting the tone for an experience filled with close encounters and unforgettable scenes.
Your full day in Amboseli invites you to immerse yourself in one of Kenya’s most iconic landscapes. Vast herds of elephants roam the plains, their silhouettes framed by the towering peak. Early light brings golden hues across the grasslands, creating ideal conditions for photography. The park is alive with buffalo, zebra, giraffe, hippo and an array of antelope species. Predator sightings add a sense of anticipation to every outing, and birdlife is abundant throughout the marshlands. An optional visit to a Maasai homestead offers a window into local traditions and culture. Your evening ends with dinner back at Elerai Camp, where night sounds fill the air.
The next morning, you depart Amboseli with an early game drive before heading south toward the Namanga border. After immigration formalities, your journey continues into Tanzania, with views of open plains unfolding all around you. A picnic lunch is served on the way to Tarangire, a protected area known for its ancient baobabs and remarkable concentration of elephants. Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge welcomes you for the night, offering comfort and warm hospitality.
Your day in Tarangire reveals a landscape shaped by seasonal movement and large wildlife gatherings. Elephants dig into the dry riverbeds for underground water, while wildebeest, zebra, impala, gazelle and other grazing species gather near fading pools. The area draws in an impressive range of predators, and sightings of oryx or the elegant long-necked gerenuk are possible in this region. Your lodge provides a peaceful retreat after time spent out in the field.
After breakfast the next morning, you head toward the Ngorongoro highlands. As you reach the rim of the famous crater, the panoramic view is breathtaking-an immense natural amphitheater sheltering a thriving ecosystem. Your half-day descent allows you to explore the grasslands, forests and waterways that sustain more than 30,000 animals year-round. Lions patrol the plains, hippos relax in the pools, and large herds of herbivores graze across the crater floor. Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Lodge offers both comfort and access to the rim’s cool atmosphere.
The road continues the next day toward the Serengeti, passing through open savanna and scattered kopjes. Once inside the park, wildlife becomes increasingly abundant, and game drives unfold en route to Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. The camp provides elevated views over the landscape, setting the stage for incredible wildlife moments.
Your two full days in the Serengeti allow time to explore the famous Seronera region, a haven for resident wildlife and home to one of the highest concentrations of predators on the continent. The landscape supports elephant, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, topi and waterbuck, along with a range of smaller animals that thrive in the acacia woodlands. Lion prides are frequently seen resting near rocky outcrops, while cheetahs scan the grasslands and leopards slip between branches of fig trees. Each day offers a chance to witness natural behavior in its purest form.
From the Serengeti, your adventure continues by air with a scenic flight to the Masai Mara. Upon landing, your Kenyan guide greets you for the transfer to Ashnil Mara Camp. After lunch, an afternoon outing introduces you to the Mara’s rich wildlife. The reserve is known for an impressive variety of species, from elephants and lions to hippos and elusive predators. During certain months, the immense movement of wildebeest and zebra fills the plains and river crossings with dramatic scenes.
Your second day in the Mara brings more time to explore its grasslands, with opportunities to search for the famed big five and follow wildlife across the ridges and open plains. A hot-air balloon flight can be arranged for a dawn experience above the reserve, followed by a champagne breakfast. Back at camp, the day draws to a close with dinner beside the river.
Your final morning includes a relaxed breakfast before checking out for the drive to the airstrip. A short flight returns you to Nairobi, where a farewell lunch and time for last-minute purchases await. Your driver then escorts you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your homeward flight, bringing this cross-border safari to a graceful conclusion.
